Most doctor directories make their money per booking, so rankings follow whoever pays. foot.hospital works differently: listings are built from federal CMS records (the NPPES registry, plus Medicare enrollment and group practice affiliation from CMS files), and practices are never charged per patient, per referral, or per click. Enhanced profiles are a flat subscription, and paid placement is always labeled Featured. Listings show the provider’s name, NPI, California license number on file, taxonomy, practice address, phone, Medicare enrollment, and group affiliation. Commercial insurance plans, languages, board certification, and hospital privileges are added only when a practice claims its profile and those details are checked.
Filter by taxonomy, sub-region, Medicare enrollment (CMS), group affiliation (CMS), or keyword. Care type below is the provider’s self-reported NPPES taxonomy, not a board certification.
Podiatric conditions, especially diabetic limb preservation, complex reconstructive surgery, and post-op non-weight-bearing recovery, demand clear communication. Research links language-concordant care with better understanding of treatment instructions and higher follow-through on care plans. When a practice claims its profile on foot.hospital, it can attest to languages spoken by the physician and staff, and those details are displayed on the profile.
Understand when foot and ankle pathologies can be resolved through medical podiatry and when surgical realignment is clinically indicated.

Major Southern California hospitals and orthopedic centers, listed for general information. This spotlight does not claim that directory podiatrists hold privileges at these facilities.
How to check a podiatrist's license and board status on official state and board registries.
Podiatry listings are sourced from the CMS NPPES registry. Board certification in podiatric medicine is displayed only after a practice claims its profile and the certification is checked against ABPM records. Official site: podiatryboard.org (ABPM handles verification requests directly).
Foot and ankle surgery taxonomy comes from the provider’s NPPES record. ABFAS board certification and hospital privileges are displayed only after a profile is claimed and those details are checked. Verify ABFAS certification: abfas.org/verification-services.
Orthopedic (MD/DO) foot and ankle surgeons are not listed in this directory, which covers podiatrists (DPM) only. This card is general information only: orthopedic foot and ankle surgeons can be checked through the ABOS at abos.org.
